Week 2 went by extremely fast! I have some downtime to write right now as we are making our way to the stem cell clinic as I type.
Treatment Day 6: October 23rd
Today we received our standard infusions consisting of B vitamins, amino acids, glutathione, and vitamin C, as well as our daily smoothie, a thymus injection, and some soup for lunch. Needless to say it was a pretty easy day. But amidst all of this something really special happened!
A little before lunch, Dr. Micheal and his staff walked in with a cake and candles and started to sing happy birthday, which was an extremely thoughtful gesture!! The cake was gluten and dairy free, but still extremely yummy.

After such a good day it was a bitch of a downer when later that night I started to develop a bit of a rash on my arm where I had my IV. It was similar to the mild rash I had gotten on my stomach after the first chelation, but I thought maybe it was just the adhesive from the bandage that I was reacting to.

Treatment Day 7: October 24th
I woke up and the rash had spread. It was made up of these tiny red bumps (similar to a dermatitis type rash) and had spread to both of my arms. By the time I had gotten to the clinic it had spread to my stomach and my legs and really started itching. Thankfully, Dr. Micheal gave me a topical antihistamine that helped. This rash was likely a result of my body detoxing, but in the wrong way. Normally, throughout this process, your body uses your liver and kidneys to get rid of the toxins in your body, but instead my rash was indicating that my liver and kidneys were a little over worked and therefore my body was releasing toxins through my skin.
Dr. Micheal explained that there was not much else he could do for the rash as he did not want to suppress my immune system, but that instead they would have to give my liver and kidneys a little more support with a few extra infusions.
Although my heavy metal results were not as bad as most, I was supposed to receive another round of heavy chelation, but because I was extremely weak, tired, and had the rash Dr. Micheal thought it would be best to wait another day.
On the plus side, I got a foot reflexology treatment done by Elke today that was very relaxing.
Treatment Day 8: October 25th
By the time I woke up the rash was pretty much gone…..thankfully.
Today was my chelation day, which I was not thrilled about. Besides what had been done while I was here at the clinic, I had never done any type of heavy metal chelation. My body reacts to it pretty quickly. I usually get very tired, weak, and experience some nausea, which was exactly what happened today.
Amongst our normal routine we also received a craniosacral therapy session, which was interesting, but good.
Later that evening I stared noticing the rash again. By the time I was ready to go to sleep I was so itchy, despite using the cream, that I could not sleep. The rash woke me up a few times that night as well.
Treatment Day 9: October 26th
The rash was worse when I woke up today. It had spread to my chest, back, stomach, legs, and arms.
Nevertheless, today was an exciting day! My friend Philip from Austria was coming to visit for the day!!! He had planned to spend the weekend in Hamburg with friends, but arrived a day early and took the train (4.5 hours) to come and see us! He had never met my mum or Tyler, so it was really nice having him here. Elke graciously offered to pick him up from the train station in Dieburg. He spent a few hours with Tyler and I at the clinic until I was done.
Philip, of course, brought us a few treats. A bottle of wine from his mum to mine from a region close to his hometown and a traditional Austrian treat, which consisted of a type of wafer with hazelnut chocolate in the middle. YUMM!
We had initially planned to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we were all pretty tired, so we decided to order in. Thankfully, we could actually do that given that we had Philip who speaks German!! So we stayed in, talked, laughed, and tried to learn some German before heading to bed later that night.

Like previously mentioned, it’s STEM CELL DAY for both Phil (my stem cell buddy from the UK) and I! I will write another post soon and talk about our experience at the stem cell clinic!
